I have good news, and..other news.

The Other News

Our Graphic Designer informed me late last week that the rule-book assets he had been diligently working on had corrupted and the file was unrecoverable.

While this is certainly another event in a series of unfortunate frustrations, anyone who has ever "lost" a file knows that the final product is always better than the draft that was forgotten. We are focusing on the positive, and hope that you can find it in your patience to do the same.

The Good News!

Our Graphic Designer did provide us with several pages of the new booklet, with a promise of more content sometime this weekend.

Here's what we have so far!

While there is still plenty left to be done on the rule-book, we hope that you are excited with the preliminary design that our artist has rebuilt so far.

Wait...that's it?

I know...this is what we have to work with at the moment. We impatiently wait to share more with you, and will send out word as soon as we have something of substance!

In the meantime, have a wonderful rest of your week, and be sure to do something nice for yourself today. You deserve it!

Throwback Tuesday and a Minion Montage
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jul 17, 2018 at 11:39:58 PM

We are still waiting on our graphic designer...so no updates on the final assets or rules yet. As soon as we have something from him, you will have something from us.

Pinky Promise.

While I sat waiting for an update from our designer today, I found myself reminiscing about how we got to this point. So while I don't have any new media for you, I'll take this opportunity to share some of Wrathborne's origins.

Did you know that Wrathborne Champions was originally designed to be a dexterity game?

Roll for Dexterity Check.
Roll for Dexterity Check.

To take out a Minion piece-by-piece, you would have to get a marble to land in a specific quadrant of the Chinese checkers-esque board.

Foam...foam everywhere...
Foam...foam everywhere...

Thankfully for us, prototypes never lasted long enough for any solid testing. The foam was no match for the mighty marbles of the Randover Games team. And although we had a lot of laughs over the absurdity of the original design, we quickly realized we needed to go in a different direction.

It was around this time that the RDG team partnered up with a dear friend of ours, Hollarity, and her concept art breathed life into the game we are proud to be manufacturing for all of you.

Our Champions were born.

We spent years tinkering and brainstorming to make the best version of Wrathborne Champions for those that believed in us during this long and sometimes frustrating design process. And we say this all the time, but we wouldn't be here without YOU.

So thank you for being a pivotal part of this journey. Your support has helped us overcome countless frustrations with unanticipated design challenges and delays since Kickstarter. This amazing community deserves the best, and we will not let you down.

We will get your game to you as soon as possible! Maybe then we can get to some of these expansions...

Minion of Wrath Miniboard Finals (hopefully)
almost 6 years ago – Thu, May 31, 2018 at 06:40:50 PM

Hey Team,

First of what is hopefully a slew of small updates as our designer returns all of the re-touched, post-proof items. They just returned the Minion of Wrath Miniboards to us in a pdf and I haven't even looked at them yet, but I wanted to get them posted to you guys and gals ASAP so you can give it a look and make any final notes.

Click here to check them out!

If you have notes you would like to share, you can post it in the comments or leave them here in the backer list.

Just as soon as another asset is posted, I will be sending another update so you can look them over with us in real time.

I'm really sorry if the multiple updates bothers anyone, I don't wish to spam anybody, but it is important to me that you all get a chance to see things the instant we do.

Game on, and I will post the next final the instant I have it!

Super Small Update: Rules Review Part II
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 09, 2018 at 06:07:48 PM

Hey Team!

Super fast updated on this Monday morning for you to start your week off right.

We got some amazing feedback from everyone regarding the rules we posted last week and we wanted to emphatically thank everyone.  In addition to a slew of grammatical updates, we were reminded of multiple polish points we missed (and a few new ones we never saw before); these notes inspired us to make multiple substantial updates to some of the sections.

With these updates in mind, I wanted to post a new version to review so we can get one last look at everything before sending it off for the booklet designer.  While most of it will look the same, there were enough changes to the substance that I just want to make sure we aren't missing anything. Since you guys and gals are simply blowing us away with your attention to detail and insight, I figure it would be smart of us to lean on you just a bit more here.

If you are interested and able to help look at the rules again...

Hit this link to see the new version 4.3 of the rules inspired by your input!

Once you've done that...

Hit this link to find the Proofing doc you can use to share more input with us!

Regardless of whether you are able to help us look these over or not, thank you so much for taking the time to read the update and stay with us on this project.  The support is deeply appreciated in all of its many forms.

Thank you again and hope you all have a brilliant week!

Game On

Ben
